We have traveled extensively in Canada, but only three trips yielded digital photos suitable for our website. The first was to the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland in the southeast corner of Newfoundland. It is rich in breeding pelagic birds, and the Gannets provide the best photo opportunities at Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve. On the second trip we went to the western half of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick (St. Andrews, Campobello, and Grand Manan Island). On the most recent trip we took the ferry from Sydney, Nova Scotia to the southwest corner of Newfoundland and then drove to the northwest corner. Gros Morne National Park and L’anse Aux Meadows National History Site were well worth the long trip. The Canadian Government has done a first class job with both of them.
